MTV's Next Movie blog got a chance to chat with David Slade ahead of the DVD release of Eclipse this weekend. Among the goodies they got out of him, was the scoop on the wedding that didn't happen:
We discussed a lot of the things at the script-writing stage — at one point, we were even going to shoot the wedding at the end of ["Eclipse"] but we knew there was another film coming”

The LA Times also interviewed the director, and he shared details on just how long it took to finish Eclipse. He also mentioned why on the DVD, the focus was all on the fans:
"This is the only thing I've ever done that's had such a fan subculture, so with the deleted scenes I wanted to do a little justification for them," Slade said.

"All the time we spent together was working," he said. "We never hung out and had a beer. We were rehearsing. If we weren't rehearsing, we were shooting. If we weren't rehearsing or shooting, we were sleeping."
