Rob Talks About His Experience While Filming 'Bel Ami' 'In Hungary

The translated details thanks to @alexandra1116 and @jitzzpattzing:
He was asked what he remembers most about it, and he came up with the one night where they filmed in a pretty bad area, said that he didn't even feel like he was in Europe anymore and implied that he believed all the fans on set didn't even know who he was, they just realised he was famous and were just gunning for an autograph that they could sell later.

He talked about shooting in part of Budapest that was poor and like Harlem and people didn't know who he was but realized his signature was prob worth something so brought out everything for him to sign. then he said that filming budapest he felt the most foreign experience he ever had. that they had a diff mindset there and it didn't even really feel like Europe but that he 'really liked it'.

"Honestly," Coulter recalls of an early luncheon meeting with Pattinson, "he was not known, Twilight had not been released and there was no way to see it. We just knew he was interested. Sitting in front of us was a guy who was scruffy, intense, charming, unpretentious."

More of Rob's Interview With EW + *New* Picture

As the highly-anticipated Twilight Saga: Eclipse prepares to descend on theaters June 30, stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner get together in L.A. for a frank discussion about the roles they play within the Twilight universe — both on screen and off. They also open up about their Oprah appearance, staying fit, and what it took to film a climactic scene in Eclipse, in which the three characters are forced to wait out a blizzard in incredibly close proximity.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: One scene fans have been dying to see takes place in the tent during the snowstorm. Jacob warms up Bella with his body because Edward is cold-blooded and can’t do it himself.
LAUTNER: The tent scene is probably my favorite, because it’s the first time Edward and Jacob are actually able to connect and understand each other.

How many takes did you go through to get that scene?
LAUTNER: Two days originally to film it, and then a full day of reshoots.

Why?
PATTINSON: [The director] wanted it to be more erotic. Seriously.
STEWART: It’s true. In the book there’s a serious sexual tension. As I’m sleeping, Jacob is staring over my vulnerable body, and he’s naked in this f- - -ing sleeping bag because you heat up faster that way, and Jacob and Edward are leveling with each other.

Taylor, you and Rob have some pretty serious confrontations in this movie.
LAUTNER: Some of those scenes were pretty hard for me. I think we ruined a couple of takes in front of the house and in the tent. It’s just, I don’t know, I have a hard time looking at him…
STEWART: Ha! “I have such a hard time looking at him”!
LAUTNER: [Laughs] I wasn’t finished. He and I were thisclose to each other — we are literally, like, an inch away — and we’re screaming at each other.
STEWART: And about to kiss…
LAUTNER: A couple of moments it felt like that.
PATTINSON: Every single time we had to do a threatening thing to each other — for one thing, you always have your shirt off, and so in the tent scene I literally grabbed your breast. And it’s very difficult to remain in the moment. Also, in the tent scene, I can’t really get over the fact that the word thought sounds like fart.
STEWART: The word thought does not sound like fart.
PATTINSON: It does.
STEWART: Maybe because you are an English person.
PATTINSON: The opening line of that scene is “Can you at least keep your farts to yourself?” I couldn’t quite get over that.

Rob's Interview With Sky News Italy + Translation

VENICE: (hello Robert!)

Pattinson: (hello!)
VENICE: (how are you?)

Pattinson: I can not answer in Italian!
VENICE: (well well well ....)

Pattinson: (good!)

VENICE: Eclipse is a very romantic movie ... I showed him want to return sixteen! In your opinion is important in today's world of romance? You're a romantic? Do you think young people like you still believe in these stories of love so overwhelming?

Pattinson: Yes, sure. I never thought about before, but since I participate in all events related to the saga, I realized that fans are dying to hear these stories and trying desperately to keep alive this kind of romance. And 'as if to say "I want to see how it will end! I believe in true love. " People are crazy about these things. I think it is positive that in a cynical world there are thousands and thousands of people who still believe in true love.
VENICE: That Twilight is one of those that love lasts forever, that defies time and space. You believe that love can last a lifetime?

Pattinson: I think so ..
VENICE: I mean the union between man and woman, marriage or how you want to call ...

Pattinson: Yes, I would say yes ... although it must be quite complicated! A relationship may end, you may not even see anymore, but there may still be love between two people. And if the sentiment is sincere hard to stop loving. I think the relationship of love before love always end up the same. I do not know if that makes sense ...
VENICE: Of course it makes sense ... look, what is the most romantic love story you've seen the movies? Tell me what is your favorite movie of love, if you have one.

Pattinson: I loved a film by Godard, is called "First Name Carmem", taken from opera, Bizet's Carmen.
VENICE: (Oh Carmen, yes, yes ..)

Pattinson: And 'a film that Godard made in the 80s. Pretty depressing for the truth ... maybe because when love is so painful is more realistic ... but it is one of my favorite movies.
VENICE: What does this mean? When you love that you love suffer?

Pattinson: Yeah, makes it more real!
VENICE: I'm sorry but I must do my classic Italian demand. Tell me once again something of your experience in Italy, did you like most?

Pattinson: Italy was the first place where I did a promotional tour of Twilight, the first film of the saga. I found myself in a foreign country and had no idea of the crowd that awaited me. I was at the Rome Film Festival, surrounded by thousands of cheering fans. I have a wonderful memory, perhaps because it was also the first time.

VENICE: Kristen Stewart told me that you had just run away ...

Pattinson: Yes, inside the library! It was the first time I happened to such a thing! It had never happened to see people so fanatical Twilight! I did not expect ... it was really exciting!
VENICE: But now you get used to all this ...

Pattinson: Yes, let's say now the thing does not impress me so much more, are no longer scared. But at that time so I was afraid!
VENICE: I guess ... look, what would you tell all your Italian fans? Say what you want!

Pattinson: Hello Italian girls! I hope you like Eclipse, since it seems to me that you appreciated the first two films! Indeed, I hope you like it even more!
VENICE: (Robert thanks!)

Pattinson: (thanks!)

Rob Really Related To Dracula? Apparently So..

Per PR Newswire

Royalty and vampires may sound like characters from the Twilight Saga – but they're actually what you find once you bite into Robert Pattinson's past. Ancestry.com, the world's largest online family history resource, says Pattinson – America's favorite vampire who stars as Edward Cullen in the hit Twilight Saga movie series – is related to Vlad III Dracula, the basis for the famous literary villain. The company says Pattinson and Vlad are likely related through the British royal family.

Born in Transylvania, Vlad, also known as Vlad the Impaler, was a three-time ruler of Wallachia (now a region of Romania) who ruled primarily from 1456 to 1462. Vlad's nickname "the Impaler" stems from his cruel and inhumane punishments of enemies. He is commonly thought to be the inspiration for Count Dracula in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.

"Tracing Pattinson's family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to the Twilight Saga," said Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist at Ancestry.com. "Without any myth or magic, we find royalty and vampires lurking in Pattinson's life – making his story just as supernatural as the one he's playing on screen."

Family history experts at Ancestry.com discovered that Pattinson's and Dracula's family trees connect through none other than the British royal line: Pattinson is distant cousins with Prince William and Prince Harry on their father's side, likely through the Pickering family who lived in Yorkshire, England, in the early 1500s. Vlad the Impaler is a distant uncle of Prince William and Prince Harry.

But Pattinson isn't the only Twilight personality with real-life vampire connections. Ancestry.com found that Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer is also a distant cousin to the British princes – linking Meyer to famed Dracula as well. Ancestry.com previously revealed other "blood curdling" connections to Dracula through the royals including former president George W. Bush and U.S. Senator John Kerry.

Edward, Bella, Jacob, And A Volvo: New 'Eclipse' Themed Commercial

Ashley & Kellan Mention Rob And 'Eclipse' In Their Interviews With Dose.ca

Ashley and Kellan talked to Dose.ca about filming during Eclipse, and both mentioned Rob:

*Ashley:

I hear you haven't seen Eclipse yet.

I'm going to wait. I want to see it at the premiere. I think if you're going to go, go all out. So I want to be there with the fans. It's always fun to hear their reaction; if you're character gets hit they cringe and groan, and then they scream when Rob comes on, so it'll be fun. Plus, I want to see it for the first time with all my friends and family.

*Kellan

What was it like working with David Slade?

He's really cool. I'm really a big fan. 30 Days of Night is such a great, epic vampire movie, and Hard Candy is such an intense mental movie, so he's a great director for this kind of dark, edgy movie. He was never stressed and he always had this dry sense of humour that I loved. Some people didn't get it, like Rob [Pattinson] would just not understand his jokes, which made me laugh even more.

Read the rest of their interviews for more deets on Eclipse.
