A Promise To Make A Difference: Our Year-Long Birthday Gift To Rob

Happy 24th Birthday Rob!

We are very excited to announce a year-long celebration project, in support of the World Wildlife Fund. We've been working on it since March, after we found out thanks to Amanda, that the WWF was Rob's charity of choice. She was a fan at the Remember Me premiere, who by chance we had met in November. When she got the opportunity to talk to Rob as he signed autographs for fans, the aspiring journalist instead chose to ask him the key question.. that has us here today (at about :08)

Our goal is simple, we'd like to raise $24,000 in honor of Rob's 24th Birthday to benefit the WWF. It seems like a lot, but we know with your support we can get there in this coming year. The WWF has helped us set up a donation page, where you can learn more on how they make a difference each day, and all over the world. You can also share your comments and leave your birthday wishes for Rob. We were even able to customize the url: http://wwf.worldwildlife.org/goto/robpattinsonbirthdaygift . You can find the link on our blog, just click on the panda at the top right corner of the page!
A birthday card with a link to that site is on the way to Rob, so he can keep track of the progress and read your messages. We hope you help us support the cause he supports. We feel it's the best birthday gift we can give, in return for all the generosity and kindness he's always shown his fans. Thank you in advance, and Happy Birthday Rob!

  1. Sorry but there are far more worthwhile charities than that. Children's cancer charities, hospice charities.

    1. perhaps there are other charities you would pick, but we are free people and may choose the charity we like. Most of the people pick a charity for people, animals need our support too. What would our planet be without animals. Without nature? We too wouldn't exist anymore. What's the use of having a cure for cancer if the planet is indangered, and after time even people will be on the edge of extinction.

  2. What a fantastic idea to celebrate Rob's Birthday. The WWF charity do a lot with regards to protecting the Amazon Rainforest which the world needs to survive. Great charity to support, I joined this week and have adopted a jaguar.

All charities are worthwhile but each person has a right to choose who they support.

Happy Birthday Rob hope you like this gift from Rob Pattz News.

I for one think it's a wonderful idea and Rob Pattz News have gone to a lot of time and trouble to sort out. Well done guys.x

  4. I agree with anon, tbh. He looks too flustered in the video that his answer seemed kinda hasty. I mean, don't get me wrong, i'd support WWF and most charities are certainly worthwhile. But 24000 could go a long way in other charities. Particularly smaller organisations and "local" ones etc...

  5. i agree with anon. more worthwhile charities. i'm sure if robert thought about it more he would pick charities more in need. i hope in the future he will be able to pick out really important, local, in dire need charities.

  6. Well to some I suppose this would'nt be a worthwhile cause but to some of us, I think its a wonderful idea. I agree with Sarah, we do need the rainforest and other global causes just as much as other research organizations. Great Job RobPattzNews!!

  7. What a great idea! However I disagree with the comments saying that there are more 'important' charities out there to support. While I'm not trying to trivialize the importance of children's charities because they are also great and important charities, who is to say they are any more worthy than WWF? He obviously has an interest in animals...after comments on his dog, his encounter with the elephant etc and I think this is a great idea to use the support of his many fans for a great cause. Especially with his new movie, Water for Elephants coming up...it seems relevant as well!

  9. here how it goes, you cannot tell people what charity to support that is so lame it is true there are lots of other charities that you may fine more important but some people have to stand up for them since they do not have a voice of their own and that is WWF

  10. What a great way to celebrate Rob's birthday, donating to a cause that is close to his heart. I don't understand these comments saying there are better causes. I am a cancer survivor but I don't think this is the only great cause. We have to help the animals, we are their voice and we need to fight for their rights.

RobPattzNews... GREAT charity I thank you and the animals thank you.

  11. Waste of money. Put it towards a children's charity. Such an ill thought through charity.

  12. Why the hate? If you don't want to support THIS WORTHY CAUSE, then don't. Go support whatever cause you deem 'worthy'...BUT KEEP YOUR INFANTILE PETTINESS TO YOURSELVES. It's a great idea! I think ROB will love it! :))))

  14. I agree, this is a worthwhile cause. The Animals cannot speak for themselves, we have to use our voices for them. oh and btw, only the nay-sayers were "Anonymous", guess they are too chicken to give us a name, even a nickname would work!?!!??!?!?!

  16. Enough people give to charities for people. But think of this when families dont have money to feed themselves what happens to the animals they will always come last. Because of this I only give to animal charities my credit card is linked to wwf and every time i spend they get something. You are all entitled to give to those you want its your money. But sorry alot of the mess that people get into is there own doing (not always I admit) animals sort of get it because we people put them into those messes as we greedy and only care about ourselves and not the earth.
