Busy Rob, About To Get Busier?.. New Potential Project Alert!

UPDATE 3/18: The latest on this potential project for Rob, including production schedule and more HERE.

The Playlist is a pretty reliable outlet, with strong contacts in the biz. That's why today we're super excited about what they're hearing involving Rob and his potential involvement in the stage-to-screen adaptation of  'Posh:'

It sounds like Pattinson's involvement is the least concrete; he's still filming David Michod's "The Rover,"and he has David Cronenberg's "Maps To The Stars" and James Marsh's "Hold On To Me" nominally on his slate, though lord knows what state they're in in terms of financing. But a good piece of material, amid a strong ensemble, would be a smart move for the actor as he continues to try to escape the shadow of Edward Cullen. As Bamigboye suggests, the challenge here is going to be scheduling; the nature of the piece requires the cast to all be together round a dining table for much of the shoot, and all these guys are busy and in demand, so don't be surprise if there's mixing and matching with who sticks with the project. Filming is planned to get underway in May, so it shouldn't be too long before we find out who's able to fit it into their schedules, and "Posh" should eventually open in 2014.

Read all the details, including who else may be involved at The Playlist. (Collider has a mention of the  project as well, and THR shares scoop from their insider). Also check out the trailer for the play, so you can get an idea of what Rob could soon be signing up for!

Rob Thinking About Opening A Pub? It Definitely Sounds Like It!

Yahoo! had the chance to chat with Rob about the possibility of him opening a pub in London. But don't expect it to be a well known fact if he does:

"I probably wouldn’t even go public that I owned it; I wouldn’t want it to become the sort of place people went to spot celebrities. I just want it to be a real pub where men discuss the issues of the day."

Read what else he had to say about the potential plans, including why he thinks it's a good idea. Certainly sounds like a good investment to us ;)

This isn't the first time we've heard about these alleged bar-opening plans. Costar Joe Anderson talked to Clevver TV about it, during the Breaking Dawn Part 2 promo.

Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Rob & His Manager Spotted In New York City, Dior Anyone?

Hey there Rob, where are you going so clean-cut and commercial-ready?

imagebam.com imagebam.com

The rumor is that Rob is in New York for work related to his new Dior deal (which no one has confirmed since E! broke the news, but you KNOW is true). We can't wait to see the ad campaign roll out in early 2013.

Did Rob *Really* Doodle On That New York City Table?

Okay, so we know when Rob was in New York City recently, he was at a bar that apparently hands patrons a drill along with their drink order. Alright, we're into it, but now there's a report Rob went beyond drilling, and actually made a doodle to complement the holes he left on the table:

"My friend said he drilled all the holes and then drew that girl-figure. He was at a party at the gallery, and my friend was there the day after and took the pic. I don't think he signed his signature!"

So we looked at it, and the comment that came with the report. It made us wonder if there's a possibility someone else could have drawn the pic in the day it took the person who took the pic to get there. We also reached out to Vale at Twilight Poison who is the expert on Rob's handwriting, and she had this to say after checking out the word scribbled on there:

It really doesn't look like Rob's at all. The letters are always too close together when he writes.

So I'm not sure it's his although he does like to make doodles like that.

So there you have it, you decide! - we'll update you if we get a definitive answer either way.

Premiere Magazine Editor Hints At New Projects For Rob

Premiere magazine's editor-in-chief (France) Mathieu Carratier briefly mentioned Rob in a few interesting tweets today. He claims Rob may be working with Werner Herzog and has spent time with Harmony Korine. Both are directors.

We'll let you know if/when we hear more.

Kristen Denies Working on a Script with Rob

Watch on Daily Motion - or below.

When MTV News caught up with Stewart at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, we asked her to address rumors that she and Pattinson are working on a script together.

“We are constantly working,” she said, “but no.”

The whole rumor got started when Rob reportedly told Cine Tele Revue that he and Kristen want to work together again: ‘we’re trying to write a script together. It won’t be for now but we’ve thought about it for a long time.’

Rob's Next Project With Scarlett Johansson?

In a recent interview Rob mentioned he had more than a few projects coming down the pipeline. We know he's confirmed for Mission: Blacklist, and he's a pretty sure bet for The Rover. Now there's word he could be doing something with Scarlett Johansson. The news came to light in an article that talks about producer Michael Benaroya:

Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call” last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,” a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.

And he’s also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,” with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall.

IMDb Pro says filming is set to begin this Spring, but lists the project as still in development. Here's the summary:

A Manhattan-set story centered around people who receive hate mail and the subsequent effects on their relationships.

Variety wrote about the project back in 2011, mainly about those putting it together:

Writing-directing team Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, who became darlings of the indie scene following "Half Nelson" and "Sugar," have set their next picture, a drama titled "Hate Mail."

Project will be fully financed by Wayfare Entertainment, which previously produced Fleck and Boden's adaptation of Ned Vizzini's novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story."

"Hate Mail" will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.

Project reunites the filmmakers with a quartet of past collaborators, as Jamie Patricof will produce through his Hunting Lane Films banner, while Paul Mezey will produce via his Journeyman Pictures shingle. Wayfare's Ben Browning and Jeremy Kipp Walker will also produce.

Mezey previously produced "Sugar" and exec produced "Half Nelson," while Patricof produced both of those films.

Fleck and Boden came on Hollywood's radar with their short film "Gowanus, Brooklyn," which bowed at Sundance in 2004 before the duo expanded the story to feature-length with "Half Nelson." The duo have multiple Indie Spirit Award nominations and Fleck was named one of Variety's 10 Directors to Watch in 2006.

We'll see if this one can be confirmed. Such an exciting time if you're a fan of Rob!

Thanks for the tip RobertDazzlesMe.

Best Dressed Win, More Cosmopolis Buzz, The Random

Once again, you have voted Rob as Best Dressed Man of 2012 according to GQ. Read what they had to say and who else made the cut.

Cosmopolis news keeps popping up here and there. The poster for the film was spotted during the Berlin Film Festival (at about :12) - and it looks like it's also landed a French release:

Pierre-Ange Le Pogam (French producer) placed the date of the new Cronenberg movie, with Robert Pattinson, on May 23rd in France. It will be its first release under the lead of Stone Angels.

Cosmopolis will set the starting line for the distributor 'Stone Angels'. Indeed, Pierre-Ange Le Pogam's company just placed on May 23rd, David Cronenberg's movie produced by Paulo Branco. It's the adaption of the famous novel by Don DeLillo about the journey of a young multi-millionnaire that goes up and down New York in his limo. The main role was given to Robert Pattinson freshly out of Twilight.

The choice of this date might coincide withCosmopolis' presentation at Cannes which opens a week before. We will have an answer April 19th when Thierry Frémaux announces the 2012 selection.

And then there's the random. After Rob and Paul McCartney were spotted breathing the same air in Paris, Hollywood Life has come up with a theory:

HollywoodLife.com has learned through further investigation that the pair may likely have met to discuss Paul’s children’s novel, High in the Woods, that is set to become a major animated film — but is in desperate need of a lead squirrel!
High in the Clouds is about a young motherless squirrel, Wirral, who embarks on an adventure through the secret island of Animalia. Wirral only has his mother’s final words — and fellow animal friends — to guide him on his journey.

Stranger things have happened..

No Rob At The Oscars? - Looks Like It

E! did some asking around and according to their Oscar insider, Rob will probably sit this year's  ceremony out:

"I don't think it's going to happen," a source involved in the Oscar preproduction tell us.

New Project Rumors + Bel Ami & Cosmopolis Updates

Today brings another round of "what will Rob star in next." After he was spotted having an apparent business meeting with Sofia Coppola in Hollywood last week, Bleeding Cool speculates on what they could have been discussing. It's a definite MUST READ. Hollywood Life claims they have the scoop. Decide for yourselves.

The buzz surrounding Bel Ami is getting louder as its Berlin world premiere approaches. UK TV show host Jonathan Ross the latest to give Rob praise, after watching the film:

We know Rob, Uma Thurman, and Christina Ricci will be in Berlin, and so will actor James Lance:

James' mother, Catherine Tarrant from Wookey, said: "There are great costumes and he has a large false mustache."
"James has a bedroom scene with Uma when I asked how it went he just said 'fine' – he is ever the gentleman."

We can't wait for that red carpet next Friday, and lucky for us there will be a live stream. And it looks like Rob will not only be in Berlin to premiere Bel Ami, but also in support of Cosmopolis:

Per Variety:

Canadian producers are riding a surge of industry buzz and critical kudos at the European Film Market with hopes that a slate of pics from seasoned Canuck helmers and newcomers will keep the momentum going in 2012.
At the forefront is Telefilm Canada, which brings its sixth edition of Perspective Canada to the mart. The federally operated film funder will showcase a selection of features for the market, including David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" and Sarah Polley's "Take This Waltz."
For the films that made the cut, Telefilm has lined up plenty of market fanfare. All the features are backed by a promotional campaign at Berlin that's funded entirely by Telefilm, and each title is screened in the market twice at a discounted rate for the film's rights holder.

Interestingly enough, this poster making the rounds in Berlin has a release date of May 18, 2012. Right around the time Cannes is going strong. We would not be surprised if the film has its premiere there, since director David Cronenberg has mentioned it as a possibility.  A bit more information from Telefilm Canada:

Sales for films still in production are also encouraging. To date, Deepa Mehta’sMidnight’s Children is presold in over 40 countries and counting, and David Cronenberg’s eagerly awaited Cosmopolis is presold in over 25 countries, including Italy and Portugal, and will travel the world.

On the music front, we got an update from the talented folks working with Cronenberg and composer Howard Shore to create the score for Cosmopolis. Read all about it.

In a new interview Juliette Binoche spoke to Le Figaro about working with Cronenberg and Rob.

This is the *rough* translation via Cosmopolis Film:

What do you do in Cosmopolis, the next David Cronenberg (film)?

I make love in the limo! Belonging to Robert Pattinson, a fabulously wealthy man who wants it all and loses it all! It sounds like Cronenberg, doesn’t it? Director of photography, Peter Suschitzky, lights up each shot like a painting. Robert and I were alone in the car with a camera and a microphone, and we could hear David’s voice coming from a distance: we would redo a take, then another one, etc. There was something clinical about it, which for me was a change from Amos Gitai or Abel Ferrara.

Cosmopolis is expected to be released in late 2012.

Is Rob Attending Golden Globes? Yes!, No!, Maybe?

UPDATE: The Golden Globes tweeted the names of stars presenting at the show today, and Rob was not mentioned. However they are not done, so there's still hope ;)

Older:

It seems there was a bit of a jumping the gun on a BIG announcement early this morning. MTV's Joshua Horowitz tweeted a list of presenters for the Golden Globes that included Rob, only to take it back an hour later. So what happened? - our guess is that Rob either has not confirmed his attendance and the list Josh saw was a tentative one, OR he wasn't supposed to say anything and oops! he leaked the news. We're thinking hoping it's the latter.. now let's all take a deep breath and wait for the official news. In the meantime, why don't we revisit Rob's appearance on the show last year.

In The Office & In The Bedroom = Hot Lookin' Georges

These two new Bel Ami stills just prolonging our pain, as we wait to hear when/where the film will be released first. Yes, we've heard the rumors about early screenings in Belgium and release dates galore across the world, but since information on this film keeps changing, we're waiting for official confirmation before we start celebrating. Stay tuned!

The Aww Moment Of The Week.. If It's True

The following story was reportedly published by the National Enquirer. Having said that.. we hope it's true :)

Robert Pattinson has sent Reese Witherspoon some glow-in-the-dark exercise clothes.
The British actor was concerned after hearing his 'Water For Elephants' co-star had been hit by a car while out jogging, so splashed out on a special gift to ensure she doesn't suffer the same fate again.
The parcel contained reflective vests, wrist bands, tennis shoes and a hat - all of which were designed by Stella McCartney - and was sent to the actress' house along with a note wishing her a speedy recovery.
A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Reese was very touched by Rob's gesture.

Rumor Debunked: Rob Will Not Be King

If we have a pet peeve, it's sites/people spreading information that is likely incorrect. That's why we're happy Gossip Cop got on the case, as soon as rumors of Rob playing King Arthur starting going around. We have nothing against the role, but news surrounding Pendragon seemed very fishy.. and as it turned out it was:

A source close to Pattinson tells Gossip Cop the story is “inaccurate.”

The Confirmed, The Rumored, The Ridiculous

So today brought ups, downs, and just the plain funny to the world of Rob.

We were really pulling for him, after he mentioned meeting with Buckley's mom in connection with the movie being directed by Jake Scott. But it was not to be. The casting for the role was announced today. We're sure a bigger and better project will come his way :)

The rumored:

After the Breaking Dawn Comic-Con clips were shown at the Empire Big Screen event in London, there's now word they could be coming to a PC screen near you:

We have been told since however that these clips are all set to hit the web next week, so do keep it THN as we will post them just as soon as we get them.

Rob & Prince William: Royal Bromance?.. Yes Please!

UPDATE (7/1): Bafta has released the list of stars attending and Rob is not included. Until next time Will..

Rob And Prince William sharing fan stories, crack baby in hand?.. stranger things have happened. BAFTA is honoring some of its biggest and brightest at a black tie event on July 9th in LA. What makes it the hottest thing to happen in Hollywood since Lindsay Lohan canceled her interview with Matt Lauer, is that the event will be attended by Prince William and his beautiful new wife Kate:

While many eyes will be trained on what Kate wears, the Royal couple will also be on hand to support the BAFTA push which aims to highlight the depth and range of British talent currently emerging in film, television and video games.

The black tie evening event is expected to see the 42 emerging Brits, selected by an expert BAFTA panel, meet the Royal couple and mingle Hollywood notables.

Just to be clear, there's been no official confirmation Rob is attending the event, being held at the Belasco Theater in Downtown LA. BAFTA is keeping the list 'top secret' for now:

The forty two emerging Brits have been selected by an expert BAFTA panel based on a number of criteria. They will generally not be complete beginners in their industry, and will have already begun to show real promise. BAFTA will announce the names of those attending prior to the event.

But since the Daily Star made a mention of him, we'll go with it. After all, no one can mingle with the Hollywood elite like Robert Pattinson.. ;)

Let's not forget Rob is in the middle of filming Cosmopolis in Toronto. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, you may want to brush up on your crack baby mixing skills.

Water For Elephants: Two Fan Stories From NYC

Face says it all

From someone who spent six hours out in the weather that hit New York City the night before the Water for Elephants premiere, I can tell you.. it. was. brutal. And I didn't even spend the night outdoors. So it was nice to hear that my friends had been treated to pizza, doughnuts, and hot chocolate. However the rumor that it was sent to them by Rob, apparently was not true.

Three fans who were there shared their experience with a fellow fan site (we've translated the important part for you):

In the middle of the night, all of us who were literally suffering outdoors got a pizza delivery. They told us that it was from Rob, Reese and Christoph.
When it was finally time to meet Rob, I was in the first row with camera and phone in hand (Also a poster I wanted Rob to sign). Everyone around me was telling him "you're so nice," "you're so handsome," and I was paralized as I saw just how beautiful he is. When I finally had him in front of me, all I could think of saying was: "Rob, thanks for the pizza that you sent fans last night” and his reaction is the picture at the top.
There's no doubt that he didn't know what I was talking about, but I love him for being so nice and genuine. His expression will stay with me forever. He then signed my poster with that precious smile of his. I can tell you Rob is a very patient man. He never complained as he signed tons of posters and took pictures with fans.

Rob might not have sent the pizza, but he made up for it by being more than gracious with fans who spent the night outdoors in terrible conditions for a chance to see him. And then there were the lucky ones. A group of girls who did not have to suffer to meet Rob.

Went to the NYC "Water For Elephants" premiere. After being told numerous times not to stand on the sidewalk across the street, we ended up waiting behind a bus that was blocking a part of the sidewalk.

The bus driver assured us that the bus would move and we would have a spot right across from the Zigfield Theatre entrance. Sure enough the bus moved, barricades went up in it's place and we were lucky enough to be right up against them. Robert got out at the end of the block and walked down the street (which was not blocked off to traffic) to greet his fans.

He talked to us, laughed at our jokes, shook our hands and took a picture with us. People had been waiting from 9pm til 1am, the night before in the pouring rain to get wrist bands to be in a so called "special section" up front. Boy were they pissed at us, because we got lucky. We just showed up an hour before the premiere and got a front row place to meet him!

What a great day!

There you have it, two very different experiences, but with the same outcome. Everyone went home happy after meeting Rob. :)

A few more pictures from the Water for Elephants promo tour (New York and London).
