Confirmed: Rob Not Attending The Oscars

We kind of figured this would be the case, and now Marc Malkin says he's heard Rob is not attending this year's Oscar ceremony:

While Pattinson fans have been hopeful that they'd see their fave star in Los Angeles for the Oscars, I'm told filming will keep him away from this year's festivities.

While we'll miss Rob on the red carpet, we are more excited to see him in The Rover. Look for details on the Australian shoot as we get them!

E! did some asking around and according to their Oscar insider, Rob will probably sit this year's  ceremony out:


"I don't think it's going to happen," a source involved in the Oscar preproduction tell us.

at 17:28 Robert Pattinson was on of the first to arrive. He smoked a cigarette and talked to two girls who were kind of flirting with him.

The February issue of Nova Magazine (Slovenia) - has an account of a model now living in LA, who shares a bit of her alleged friendship with Rob.

Ana Colja conquered the most wanted vampire

One of the most successful slovenian models is a good friend of Hollywood superstar Robert Pattinson. She caught his eye three years ago. Ana, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday in Ljubljana ( but she is already back in Los Angeles, where she is super busy) attended Oscars 2008 with Robert.




She confirmed to us that they are friends: "He is a nice and simple man. We clicked immediately and are still friends. Every time we see each other, we're happy. He's very busy with the second part of Breaking Dawn, but we're still in touch. I hope he stays the same as always, he's not yet corrupted by the world of fame, " Ana, who is about to try as an actress in Hollywood very soon, told us.

Academy Awards: MTV's Red Carpet Live Coverage + Twilight Skit Details!

UPDATE/ Ryan Seacrest just announced a new bit of information regarding the Twilight surprise during the Oscars:

"Just talked to one of the Oscar producers, that rumor that we've been hearing about.. I just confirmed a huge Twilight musical moment on tonight's show. They say it's act seven, so I think that's about halfway through the show. If you're a Twilight fan, you'll want to see that in the actual Oscar telecast".

Ryan added he's 'Team Wolf' btw..

MTV Features Rob On Oscars Promo - E! Online Has Update

UPDATE 2/25: Summit confirmed that no Twilight cast will attend the Oscars, but producer Bruce Cohen told Ryan Seacrest twilighters may still want to tune in..


With just a few days to go until the Oscars, we still don't have official confirmation on whether Rob will be there. E! Online did some asking and came up with a bit of an update:

Sources close to Rob tell us that there is a "slight chance" he will be here in Los Angeles to present at the Oscars with his Water for Elephants costar Reese Witherspoon.


Filming can be so unpredictable that unless it's 100 percent, an announcement won't be made.


A source close to Rob tells us that conversations are taking place to "see if it will happen."

MTV seems to be keeping its fingers crossed that Rob will walk that red carpet again.. we are pulling for you Joshua Horowitz ;)

"Hey folks, if you are a Twilight fan . . . For all of you Twi-Hards out there, we have a little surprise for you in our show on Sunday night . . . if you like those three films, I have three words for you: watch the Oscars."

Rob's Water for Elephants costar, Reese Witherspoon has been confirmed as a presenter - so we're still holding out hope that he makes it. But whatever happens, just seeing Rob's name sandwiched between the 2010 Oscar winners on IMDb still makes us smile..

Did IMDb Let The Oscar Cat Out Of The Bag?

An alert PattinsonStew made us all aware that Rob is now listed on the Oscars IMDb page as a presenter.

But as Twilight Lexicon likes to remind us, that doesn't mean that information can't be wrong. So we wait for official confirmation. We did learn today that Rob is definitely not attending the BAFTAs in London.

Host Jonathan Ross also told a fan there were no sightings of Rob or Kristen at today's rehearsals.

We are not surprised, since filming for Breaking Dawn continues this weekend in Baton Rouge.  For now
let Golden Globes Rob keep you company, and let's hope the Oscars info holds true!

The Oscars will air February 27th on ABC.
