More From Carter Burwell: Preparing Piano Scene For Breaking Dawn Part 2

In the past few months, Carter Burwell has given few interviews about the process of creating the score for Breaking Dawn. He spoke to Sonic Scoop in a must-read interview a while back, and now he gives a few more details to the Sag Harbor Express:

At what point in the filming process will you come onboard? Is the film usually finished by the time you see it and set the score?
Generally, I don’t actually write anything until a film has actually been shot. But, there are some exceptions.
In the movie I’m working on right now, which is “Breaking Dawn: Part II,” they needed Rob Pattinson and the actress who plays his daughter to play piano onscreen. I had to write this duet before they shot the film so they could actually learn the parts. Rob is a musician, so he prides himself on working out the fingering for these correctly.

We can't wait to hear the finished product!

Thanks TwiExaminer for the tip.

  1. I wish Rob would play the piano in an interview. I'd love to hear him play something. I didn't get to see the first Tuesday showing coming up to "Breaking Dawn" when there was suppose to be extra footage of him playing "Bella's Lullaby". Did anyone see it?
