'The Host' Stars Mention Rob, We Get The Scoop On Stephenie Meyer's Next Project

While they're busy promoting their upcoming film The Host, Max Irons and Jake Abel were asked whether they were the next Rob. This is what they had to say:

Max: “It is a very lazy comparison, because Twilight was a phenomenon unto itself. Pattinson was chased down the streets of Paris before the films even came out. And he is doing well for himself. He has about five films with acclaimed directors lined up.

Jake: “A lot of people expect us to knock the Twilight cast. But Taylor Lautner is a really nice kid. Robert Pattinson, I couldn’t imagine the tremendous amount of pressure he was under — and he earned my respect when I saw him fight for certain projects. Water for Elephants is a great novel, the movie is what it was. That’s not his fault. That’s the risk; we’re the face of projects.”

We got a chance to attend last week's Google Hangout in L.A. with Stephenie Meyer and the cast. This is them getting ready to go live (some of them via satellite). During the Q&A, Stephenie talked about the romance in The Host and how it's different from the love triangle in Twilight. She also mentions why she ended up doing cameos in the Twilight series, and confirms she won't have one in the The Host.

Once the interview ended we got a chance to talk to Stephenie, and asked her about her newly announced film project: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. She told us she's thinking it could be a comedy, and that she doesn't have a script for it yet. The book is a pretty fun read involving a teenage boy who hunts ghosts, and his relationship with Anna who is a tortured soul herself. We can't wait to see it on the big screen.

The Host is out in U.S. theaters March 29th. We can only hope at some point Stephenie revisits the Twilight world.
