Top-Earning & Spending It Well

Forbes just listed Rob and Kristen among the Top-Earning Screen Couples in Hollywood:

Ranking second behind Grint and Watson is reported real-life couple Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the stars of the Twilight franchise. All of the Twilight films to date have hit theaters in the last five years, earning $2.5 billion at the global box office. While theHarry Potter series is mostly about Potter’s journey, the Twilight franchise is centered on Stewart and Pattinson’s characters, the human Bella and the vampire Edward. In the most recent movie they got married, with disastrous results. They’ll have a chance to boost their earnings even more when the second part of the last book, Breaking Dawn, is released this coming November.

And what does Rob do with all that cash? - he reportedly spends at least part of it in art,  with the help of Drew Barrymore's fiancĂ© Will Kopelman:

According to People Kopelman is a top art advisor with "high-profile clients from Robert Pattinson to Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard to Silicon Valley billionaires".

US Weekly adds more:

Kopelman has helped pick out and curate the art collections of such stars as Zooey Deschanel, Robert Pattinson and actress Lake Bell. Kopelman helped Twilight hunk Pattinson, 25, pick out the works of young up-and-coming artists for his abode in L.A.

We say that's a great way to spend your cash if you have it ;)

Harper's Bazaar: The Cover That Keeps On Giving

Much like Forbes keeps pimping out those Rob and Kristen paycheck numbers in different articles, Harper's Bazaar knows a good thing when it sees it. A few months ago the magazine profiled Rob and Kristen's cover in its Collector's Edition, and now it's doing it again. The cover shows up in the pages of its Greatest Hits book.

We're assuming it's just a quick mention, so not sure it's worth buying.. but you can order it on Amazon.

Humble, Handsome, And Yes.. Rich

Forbes reminded us today, why Rob is every woman's dream. Sure, we love hobo Rob with all his foul-mouthed quirkiness.. but being named among the Best Paid Celebrities Under 30 certainly doesn't hurt the appeal:

Robert Pattinson, 25

$20 million

With the end of the Twilight franchise in sight, Pattinson is preparing himself for a post-vampire career. The romance Remember Me earned only $56 million but that's not bad considering the film had a tiny budget of $16 million. Water for Elephants, costarring Reese Witherspoon, also performed decently at the box office proving that audiences are willing to accept Pattinson as more than an undead heartthrob.

Oh yeah, we'll accept him.. especially in a pair of  "killer red chinos" (thanks for the lingo lesson GQ).

Rob Richer Than Prince William & Prince Harry

Per Metro UK:

Figures compiled for the Sunday Times Rich List illustrate just how lucrative the Harry Potter and Twilight film franchises have been for their stars.

Just as JK Rowling’s wizard adventures have beaten Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga at the box office, Radcliffe has won the wealth battle against Pattinson.

Radcliffe, 21, is now said to be worth a staggering £48 million thanks to his appearances as Harry Potter on the big screen and his stage work.

Pattinson, 24, who appeared in the Harry Potter movies before going on to play Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, has amassed a £32 million fortune.

The figures put them in fifth and eighth positions respectively on the list of wealthiest Britons under 30.

With Keira Knightley’s £30 million securing tenth place in the table, it seems being a young actor pays better than being a young royal.

Prince William and his brother Harry only make 11th, with their inheritance from their late mother and land ownership worth £28 million.

That did at least put them ahead of Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who tied for 13th with £24 million.

'Water For Elephants' Got Rob For Peanuts, According To Vanity Fair

The new Vanity Fair features Rob among Hollywood's Top 40 Earners of 2010. But what surprised us is how much he was paid for Bel Ami and Water for Elephants. Truly both projects of love, plus he gets to work with Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon, Christoph Waltz and other A-listers. Well played Rob.

Rob did jump quite a few spots in 2010. He was previously #35. Go Rob!

Media outlets of course were all over the news.

Can He Sell Sexy?.. Rob's Covers By The Numbers

After celebrating the news that Rob and Kristen's Harper's Bazaar cover was just named cover of the year, we came across a great new article that breaks down the numbers on some of our other favorite covers with Rob.

This dreamy December 2009 cover sold 405,000 copies, which will make any circulator’s heart start racing. According to ABC statistics, the average for the Jul/Dec 2009 period was 421,833, making this cover the second worst of their rate base period…4% below average. However, it sold a lot more than the December 2008 cover…27% more copies in fact…which featured a steamy Kate Winslet. I’m guessing Vanity Fair is quite happy with their Vampire cover’s performance.

Big Sales.

The best-selling issue from the Jan/Jun 2010 rate base period, this sexy cover sold 67,000 copies…33% more than their overall average for the statement. It also sold 14% more copies than the same time slot in 2009. I’m sure the 10th Anniversary sky bar didn’t hurt the sale either.

According to ASME copy, “Details wanted to, in the words of photographer Norman Jean Roy, transform Pattinson from “teen-idol vampire boy into a more adult version of himself.” To achieve that, creative director Rockwell Harwood decided to rent a gothic mansion outside of Los Angeles, hire several female models who were willing to spend an entire day naked and dress a 23-year-old British heartthrob in high-end designer clothing.”
Check out the rest of the covers mentioned and how they did at Masthead.

First Look: New Comic Book On The Way, Two Covers To Choose From

Given the success of individual comics about Rob, Kristen and Taylor.. we're not surprised Blue Water Productions is now coming out with a Twilight Edition. Word is it will be released December 7th, just around the time the Eclipse DVD comes out. You can pre-order the Twilight comic book now. We don't know if the two covers will carry the same content or it will vary, but we're sure we'll get more details as the release date get closer.

'Breaking Dawn' Part 2: Release Date Announced! & Condon Against 3D?

We knew that Breaking Dawn Part 1 is coming out November 18, 2011. Now we know how long we're gonna have to wait for the second part. Summit announced the news via twitter Tuesday:
EXCLUSIVE! You're the first to hear that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 2 will open in theatres November 16, 2012!
A few hours later Greg over at HitFix, wrote up a really good article on the reason it was scheduled that way:
It appears the summer release experiment for "The Twilight Saga" was not as successful as Summit Entertainment had hoped.

The Los Angeles Times agreed, and questioned how fans will react to such a long wait between part 1, and 2:
We were already a little perplexed that the first "Breaking Dawn" was being held for November 2011, putting nearly a 1-1/2 years between installments. With this announcement it's clear what Summit is thinking: Stick with the autumn and avoid the summer.

And while Summit is said to be considering doing at least one of the sequels in 3D, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Bill Condon is against the idea:
Will the final installment be in 3-D? Summit says a decision has yet to be made, but sources say director Bill Condon and Co. are opting to NOT go for a third dimension.
Finally our favorite headline came from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"The world may not end in 2012 but the "Twilight" franchise will -- on Nov. 16, 2012, to be exact.

Deep. So do you think it's too long of a wait between sequels? Share your thoughts!
