1) How was the last day on set?
This last day in Canada marked a break from the two previous weeks that were horrible and sad when it came to the weather. It was so cold. For the last day, we finally had some sun and it was nice. Then for the last scene, we got to film on a beach, facing the ocean. There are worse work conditions.

2) How was the mood on set?
It was really nice. There were more than a hundred people for the last scene, which was great. I’d already done my biggest scenes with Kristen so we were able to relax. Like I said, we had nice weather so it was a nice way to end everything.

3) How do you feel now that everything is over?
I don’t really realize it. I’ve been part of this journey for a while now and it didn’t register yet with me that it’s almost over. Even if we finished shooting, we’re still promoting the movie, it’s being talked about so I’m still immersed in it. Maybe in a year, I’ll have moved on.

4) Are you worried of being pigeonholed as Edward?
Yes and no. it’s true that by playing Edward, I played a character that is atypical. It’s not every day you play a vampire. I know that people compare me to him a lot & that there is a risk of only getting offered vampire roles but in the last 2 years I’ve played in other movies that were from a different genre.

5) Would you like to produce? 
Why not but I’d rather work in screenwriting, I don’t feel ready to tell stories yet but rather help others put theirs into form and go inside their universe. I like that a lot.

6) In the fourth film you become a dad, was that weird? 
Not really, holding a baby isn’t too hard. Now playing a dad isn’t something you prepare for it's definitely something new when you’re not a father but you star to react naturally when you hold a baby in your arms. You feel like protecting it. But when Mackenzie Foy started playing Renesmee (our daughter) older, it was weirder. I told myself, ‘we have a 11 years old daughter.’ *laughs*

7) Are you living a dream?
I’m living a life that I would have never even dreamed of. Even though in some ways, it helped me become the adult that I am today. I’ve met people that share the same passion and this is amazing. Working with people who invest themselves as much as I do into their work is wonderful.

The scene that marked Rob the most is the birthing scene. Indeed, like his character in the book, he has to open her open with his own teeth. Even if it was fake, he’s still not over it. He still asks himself today if the baby that I was in the scene wasn’t traumatized as well.

The BIG question!
Do Edward and Bella finally have sex?
It’s so funny how people constantly talk about this scene. Like in the books it’s an intimate and sensual moment and maybe the scene in the movie won’t meet people’s fantasies! It’s crazy; I don’t think there’s ever been as much hype in any other movie about a sex scene.

Rob Talks House-Hunting In London, His Music, & More!

Sad news for all Twi-Hards. With Breaking Dawn coming closer, the Twilight Saga is really approaching the final end. One relief: Fancy got the chance to fly to LA for an parting interview with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. ‘When we were filming the final scenes, we all started crying’.

We heard that during a steamy sex scene, you destroyed a bed!
‘You are very aware, hahaha! When Kristen and I had to play the honeymoon, I totally immersed in the scene. But I need to make it clear: the bed isn’t destroyed. Because of the love bites with my vampire teeth, only some pillow covers and sheets from expensive, Egyptian linen are mutilated. But still dreadful.’

Have you taken a reminder from the set?
‘Hmm, let’s think… During shooting I stole the bathrobe from my hotel room for the first time, haha! But from the Breaking Dawn-set I haven’t taken anything away. While shooting Eclipse I did. I shipped some BMX-bikes from the film to my home in LA. But when the film crew discovered that, I had to give them back.’

Because of Twilight you have become a celebrity. Does that only have benefits or are there also some downsides?
‘Being famous is very cool! I travel a lot, I meet very nice people… But it also has some downsides. I’m searching for a home in London at the moment. While viewing the house, lots of strange thoughts popped up in my mind. Can paparazzi park their cars in front of this house? Are strange fans able to camp on my pavement? I think like a spy or a secret agent and that’s pretty weird.’

What are you planning to do after Twilight? 
‘After Breaking Dawn you will be able to see me in the movie Bel Ami and in the drama Cosmopolis. But what I’m really excited about is to start making music again. I play the guitar and the piano and between shooting the scenes I wrote lots of songs. So I can’t wait to perform again. The energy you feel when you show up in a full house: super!’

In an new interview with French magazine Le Figaro, Rob shares his thoughts on Bel Ami, Water for Elephants, and his fans.

“I’m Not James Dean”


At age 25, the world’s most famous vampire is moving away from the Twilight zone to reach for new horizons. In Water for Elephants he plays an elephant handler caught up in a tumultuous love story. An idol with less sharp teeth but wide ideas confides his thoughts to us in Hollywood.

It’s a rather moony soul who welcomes us in his suite at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles. A long spindly figure with a pale complexion and melancholy blue eyes, running his right hand through his tousled hair to tame it, Robert Pattinson seems caught up in some silent reverie that we pull him out of with our questions. Polite and British to the very tips of his artfully unlaced Dr. Martens, he comes back down to his life on earth.

A life chronicled in minute detail in the tabloids: a kiss given to Kristen Stewart on the set of Breaking Dawn in Rio de Janeiro, a birthday party at a friend's house, arriving at Vancouver Airport, getting a dog and setting Twitter buzzing... With his entire life chronicled in real time, you'd almost forget he’s an actor.

But at age 25, the vampire dandy is trying to stretch his wings. He’s getting ready to film Cosmopolis with David Cronenberg, an adaptation of Don DeLillo’s cult novel. And we’ll see him on the screen in May in Water for Elephants, starring with Reese Witherspoon and the unsettling Christoph Waltz (brought into the limelight by Quentin Tarantino in Inglourious Basterds), in the role of an animal handler who’s madly in love with a beautiful married woman. An encounter with an enigmatic icon, an old-school yet very “now” young man, a rebel and a conformist, a handsome aristocratic punk for budding* young girls. (*TN: word play on Proust’s novel)

Madame Figaro. - You shoot a lot. In addition to the last two films in the Twilight series, we'll see you in June in Bel Ami, from Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, and soon in Water for Elephants, from Francis Lawrence. What attracted you to the role of Jacob Jankowski, a circus animal trainer?


Robert Pattinson: First, the book by young writer Sara Gruen, a tremendous success in the United States. The action takes place in the 1920s, in a traveling circus. With this role, suddenly I had the opportunity to leave behind the fantasized modern world of Twilight and live among animals, and touch concrete things.

You seem drawn to a romantic past...

- Yes, I love the history of America, it’s one of the things that really interests me. When I read the script, I was hooked immediately. It seemed obvious, and easy. Jacob is a tormented and mysterious soul. He lost his parents, he doesn’t want people digging around in his past. So if he joins this traveling circus, it’s to prove himself as a veterinarian. He doesn’t know he’s going to experience a violent and forbidden love there as well.

Your (acting) profile is taking shape: a lonely, misunderstood and very attractive man. All your characters have that in common.

- That's true. It’s as if Edward, the hero of Twilight, was the guiding thread running through all these roles. Jacob sees things in black and white. And Edward is always making distinctions between good and evil. My characters are Manichaean, in a way. That's why I try to give them inner depth.

So how did you work in Bel Ami? Georges Duroy, the novel’s hero, is older than you.


- It had me hesitating, then I just threw myself into it, because Maupassant is my favorite French writer. Bel Ami is a timeless classic. We had lots of fun with Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci, my screen partners. I focused my acting on the character’s great freedom of action. Bel Ami is an animal. He’s my first character who’s completely cynical yet ironically quite honest. But he’s destructive. He plays a game where no one respects the rules, where everyone has love affairs, where high society puts on a big fake show, where pretending is the most important thing. He doesn’t give a damn, he does whatever he pleases, and that’s exactly what appeals to women.

A bit like you, in short...

Oh no! I'm not a Don Juan at all. All these fans taking pictures of me, these blogs, this buzz... I don’t get it, but it’s actually pretty cool. Honestly, I have no sex appeal. All you have to do is walk around Los Angeles, London or Paris, and you’ll find tons of guys like me. I’m no James Dean.

But you’ve got a rebel side, a dark side. Who are your models, your favorite movie actors?

- From James Dean, who only made three movies, I like Giant with Elizabeth Taylor. But for me, the great icon of the sixties is Marlon Brando, with that inner rage, that duality of masculinity and hidden tenderness. I'm also a fan of gangster movies with James Cagney and Paul Newman, especially Cool Hand Luke. As for actresses, I love Isabelle Huppert and actresses from the golden age of Hollywood, like the smoldering Ava Gardner, and Katharine Hepburn, so classy and rough and funny. Kristen Stewart, whose acting I really admire, has bit of Hepburn in her.

Can He Sell Sexy?.. Rob's Covers By The Numbers

After celebrating the news that Rob and Kristen's Harper's Bazaar cover was just named cover of the year, we came across a great new article that breaks down the numbers on some of our other favorite covers with Rob.

This dreamy December 2009 cover sold 405,000 copies, which will make any circulator’s heart start racing. According to ABC statistics, the average for the Jul/Dec 2009 period was 421,833, making this cover the second worst of their rate base period…4% below average. However, it sold a lot more than the December 2008 cover…27% more copies in fact…which featured a steamy Kate Winslet. I’m guessing Vanity Fair is quite happy with their Vampire cover’s performance.



Big Sales.

The best-selling issue from the Jan/Jun 2010 rate base period, this sexy cover sold 67,000 copies…33% more than their overall average for the statement. It also sold 14% more copies than the same time slot in 2009. I’m sure the 10th Anniversary sky bar didn’t hurt the sale either.


According to ASME copy, “Details wanted to, in the words of photographer Norman Jean Roy, transform Pattinson from “teen-idol vampire boy into a more adult version of himself.” To achieve that, creative director Rockwell Harwood decided to rent a gothic mansion outside of Los Angeles, hire several female models who were willing to spend an entire day naked and dress a 23-year-old British heartthrob in high-end designer clothing.”

First Look: Sexy Stars Of 'Twilight' Eclipse

I just got this at the store today, and didn't realize scans weren't out there yet. Since I don't have a scanner I am sharing my HQ pics (pretty decent quality) just click on the pic to enlarge. While some of the claims about the stars are just plain funny, other details are very juicy.. like Rob picking the clothes that his wax figure wears at the London exhibit! - Only included the parts that mention Rob or the series. But they are the best parts!

As its previous versions, the issue is definitely worth the $9.99 US it costs at the store. You can save a buck if you order online.

Edward: Best Prom Date Ever & Seventeen Magazine Agrees!

Edward & Bella's prom in Twilight, is among Seventeen magazine's 17 prom scenes of all time.



Bella isn't like other girls — she falls in love with Edward, a vegetarian vampire, and she could care less about going to prom. She has other things to worry about, like falling prey to the evil vampires. But Edward won’t let her miss this human rite of passage, so he takes her to prom, where they dance the night away in a beautiful gazebo.

And it wouldn't be Bella and Edward's prom dance without the track to go with it, enjoy!
