Mirror UK Claims Rob Turned Down Burberry's Offer

Mirror UK is basing the report on a source within the fashion industry:

Twilight movie sensation Robert Pattinson has turned down a £1million deal to be the face of Burberry, declaring: “I’m an actor, not a model.” As vampire Edward Cullen, R-Patz, 24, has the looks, charm and charisma to melt every girl’s heart. And I can now reveal Robert is truly a man with artistic integrity too.


It was a straight “No” when the posh British style and accessories brand, headed by designer Christopher Bailey, came calling. My source in the fashion world revealed: “Christopher and the Burberry team were desperate to sign Robert as the main person in their new campaign. "It would grace all their stores worldwide and be in all the best publications. They went to Robert but he immediately, politely, turned them down.
“As far as Robert sees things he’s an actor by trade and that’s his art. He doesn’t want to start becoming a brand or anything.”
Burberry are one of the coolest brands out there when it comes to high-end fashion. In the past few years their campaigns have featured Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (now shooting Transformers 3 in Hollywood), supermodel Agyness Deyn and Harry Potter star Emma Watson.

To say Christopher and Burberry are disappointed by the flat rejection is an understatement. My source continues: “Burberry really hoped Robert would do it. They know he wears Burberry occasionally and he’s met Christopher and the team before. They only wanted him. Robert’s look would have been perfect so they’re back to square one.”

We'll file this one as a rumor, although Rob did model for a similar campaign with Hackett in 2007. We can only imagine what he could do for Burberry now..

Why Kellan Thinks Rob Is Perfect As Edward

While talking to YRB magazine, Kellan talked about how he got the role of Emmett. He also mentioned why he didn't try out for the role of Edward Cullen:

"I don’t think I would have played a great Edward. I think what Rob [Pattinson] does with it is mind-blowing. They need someone like Rob to really give Edward so many layers without doing much."

Eclipse Opens In Japan: New Interview With Rob Surfaces (From Summer)

This is an interview Rob gave Cinecom Walker Magazine Japan during the Eclipse promo. It came out in Japan in advance of the film's premiere there today.

Rob:People ask me if I believe in exis­tence of Vam­pires, I actu­ally do not believe in the story.(Laugh)

Since I have been doing Edward, and every 6 months I come back to the set of Twi­light and the crew would ask me “How have you been? You look a year older than last time I saw you.” Maybe that is why I feel like I age faster than usual. I just had my 24th birth­day the other day, it seems like time flies so fast and I feel like I am 35 years old already.

Rob:Every time I fin­ish the shoot­ing and get away from the sequel, I for­get how much this char­ac­ter meant to me, it is really sad. It is fun to come back to the set and do Edward and real­ize that I am try­ing to enhance my act­ing skill.It is really chal­leng­ing to bring all the expe­ri­ences I have done into my act­ing skill. Things hap­pen and van­ish, like super­nova in a way. To be a well skilled actor, I would need another 10 years.

Rob:I have found really nice agent for myself; they are really close friends at the same time. The thing is, most of the Hol­ly­wood actors believe that the agents are the per­son who brings the new job, like “Oh, if you don’t fetch a good assign­ment, you are fired!”.

But I do not feel that way toward my agent. I think it is you that who seeks a new assign­ment for your­self. So, I keep a good friendly dis­tance with them and they know where I come from. Not that I do not wish to suc­cess, but we have the same devo­tion toward work. Most of the movies I have done recently are the scripts that I had read before the open­ing of “Twi­light”. Those are the scripts I read and I liked. There were some scripts that I thought it may not make it and all the sud­den it become real­ity. I think I like one of those indies pro­duc­tion bet­ter than the ones that you know who will be in and the date of the open­ing day already. Those are the one of the block­busters but to me those that only seeks for the mar­ket is not inter­est­ing enough to be casted. I pre­fer an actor like a Futures trad­ing dealer. It is much exciting.(laugh)

=Robert Pat­tin­son STORY=

Rob: Fame is like an imag­i­nary thing after all. If you are not tal­ented, you can’t use the power of the fame. If you are famous, that doesn’t mean that you have them all, or you get the enough wealth to live hap­pily ever after.

Gos­sips and Tabloids pick up every bit of the some­one who got famous in this instant, and they do not care of invad­ing one’s pri­vacy at all. That is one of the rea­son peo­ple lose their inter­ests in movies or the mys­te­ri­ous side of the actors.

Robert has started seek­ing his career after “Twi­light saga” sequel. He does not wish to van­ish his career in this hys­te­ria and mass media’s too much attention.

Rob: This hys­te­ria will soon over, like in a year or so; I try to ignore the crazy gos­sip. That is how I keep myself. I would like to do cou­ple of more small pro­duc­tions, but I have my ambi­tion to do a big­ger film in the future.

Rob: It was really tough to go through that peo­ple rec­og­nize me as an actor who does the pop­u­lar sequels. Most of the block­busters has recog­ni­tions of that sort, but at least Kristen and I are not doing “Twi­light” because of that.

He men­tions that he also under­stands that because of this “Twi­light” fame, peo­ple keep send­ing him all sorts of scripts and productions.

Rob: Because I did “Twi­light” and rec­og­nized, peo­ple send me many scripts to have my eye on, but I don’t think I am changed in the way I choose the script. I do not have a spe­cial fea­ture in myself, it is not too dif­fi­cult to find a script. I tend to pick the ones that I haven’t done of.

Rob: Before I became an actor, I thought I could not com­plete any­thing. But now, I think I started to climb up my moun­tain. It may take 10 more years to say that I have all the con­fi­dence in what I do. I feel great to be an actor; act­ing makes me feel like I still have a hope in my future.

Rob: One thing I have fear about is what kind of projects I will do and how the pub­lic will react for that. It looks silly even to me some­times, but that is my fear. That is why I don’t have pub­li­cist and I‘d like to choose what I will do by myself. It is a lot eas­ier to have some­one decide what you will do, but I do not want to blame some­one other than myself when things went wrong. I wish to be a pru­dent actor, but I also know that it is dif­fi­cult to con­trol your­self that much as an actor. So, I think being in “Twi­light” made a great progress in my act­ing carrier.

'Breaking Dawn' Brazil Day 2: TV Reports, Latest Scoop

UPDATE: First video of Rob and Kristen with fans in Brazil (at the airport).



Ever since Rob and Kristen arrived in Rio early Friday, fans have been camped out outside of their hotel. But as we found out in this news report, they are not all there for the Twilight stars. Apparently Vin Diesel also has fans.. who knew? ;) (Our fave part is the older men trying to guess which stars fans are waiting for).



Today we also got a look at a few more of the stuff Rob signed for fans waiting for him and Kristen at the Rio Airport yesterday.

Aline (@Alineee) with Capricho Magazine also let us know a few other details of some of the perks the press got at the hotel, while hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars. (Google translate version):

Yesterday, we were invited to a party at the Copacabana Palace and we could move in the same place that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. OMG, right?



The hotel is all this even if the staff speaks! PERFECT! Several restaurants, bars, a pool of dreams ... but we stayed right next to a piano in the piano bar, waiting for Rob to play a little cheer for us! Imagine if this happens ?????? Morri!
But yesterday they were hanging out in the room.

They are on the top floor where the rooms are more expensive - the most luxurious of them, where Robert Pattinson was photographed on Friday, May, the daily cost over £ 5000. The entire floor was reserved for the production of the film and therefore they had no contact with other guests or with local officials.

Finally, fans caught up with Stephenie Meyer today, after she wandered out into the city before production begins.

Fans Get Rob's Autograph At Rio's Airport: They Have Arrived!

UPDATE: First pics are in! (at least one fan got to meet them) ;)

Fans caught up with Rob and Kristen as they left New Orleans bound for Brazil last night, and this morning they have landed in Rio. Fans were waiting for them when they arrived a few hours ago, and while they didn't get a chance to see them.. according to reports the two did sign autographs before leaving for their hotel. A fan also got their autographs on the flight to Rio.

Per BlogTwiBrasil:

Explaining why people got autographs but have not seen them: they were delivering the papers, posters, whatever, to the cops who were VERY nice and there were taking in to be autographed by Rob and Kristen and then they brought back. According to the report, Rob autographed all, Kristen just only one.

Apparently some press also got the chance to chat with Rob (briefly we're assuming).

'Breaking Dawn' Synopsis, 'Bel Ami' Trailer Preview And More..

We had a few updates in the last 24 hours on two of Rob's most anticipated projects. First up, Breaking Dawn and what we can expect to see on the big screen. Summit released the synopsis of the films at the American Film Market in LA this week. Read it over at Collider.com.

While there, Collider's Steve Weintraub got the chance to view the Bel Ami clip presented to potential buyers and media at the Cannes Film Festival  last May. These were his thoughts on the video via twitter:

Was just shown a 3 min promo for BEL AMI. Robert Pattinson fans will love seeing him make out with Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, and others

No idea when the promo is getting released or even if it is getting released. I was shown the promo the studio showed buyers at Cannes.

Thought the footage looked really good and I think rob is underrated as an actor. But almost any editor can make a promo look good.

Also...I might have been wrong about the time of the promo. Might have been closer to 4 or 5 minutes. He sleeps around a lot in BEL AMI.

There is still no official word on a release date for Bel Ami.

The Japanese distributor in Japan has released an extended clip of Eclipse to promote its premiere (not the DVD as some are reporting) in that country this weekend. It includes part of the tent scene and more. Eclipse premieres in Japan November 6th.

As People Magazine starts giving clues about the list of contenders for its Sexiest Man Alive title that will be announced later this month, they've already given a shoutout to Rob as one of the sexiest guys at every age:

Viva Las Vegas: World Takeover Continues!

Told ya.. slowly but surely:

Starting Wednesday, Madame Tussauds will put a new wax statue of “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson on display at its museum on the Las Vegas Strip.


The $300,000 wax likeness of the 24-year-old heartthrob will remain at the museum through the end of the month.

What we really want to know is whether he will he be sporting this look.. ;)
