U.S. Box Office Update: 'Remember Me' Up 40%

While it shed some U.S. theaters last week, and is sure to shed some more Friday, 'Remember Me' is still at it, posting a 40% increase according to Alt Film Guide:

Among the 30 or so movies listed on the Box Office Mojo chart, Robert Pattinson’s Remember Me had the highest jump, a whopping 39.3% — up to 17K. Of course, this is good news for Pattinson’s fans, but …

Putting things in perspective: the lower the box-office take of a movie, the higher the jump/drop in percentage terms. In other words, an extra $5K would mean almost nothing to Clash of the Titans and less than 1% to even a movie with a mid-level box-office take such as The Last Song or Why Did I Get Married Too.

Even so, unless it sheds more theaters next Friday Remember Me should reach $19 million at the North America box office before the end of its run. Currently it’s at $18.725 million. We’ll see.

Can't wait to see how much more it accumulates overseas. Combined it already crossed the $45 Million mark. Go Tyler!

Rob On 'SNL' Update

It's always tricky to decide what is real or not when it comes to quotes in gossip magazines. OK Magazine is reporting that they talked to SNL's Lorne Michaels about Rob hosting next season, and this is what he reportedly said:

“We asked him this season,” Lorne told OK! Monday night at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Presents An Evening with Saturday Night Live in NYC. “And then he did Jimmy’s show and that went well for him..”

It really did..

All we have to say is.. keep asking SNL!

Belgium TV Show Talks Rob & His Projects

Belgium’s Le Journal RTL TVI talked to Rob, and mentioned his roles in Eclipse, Remember Me and Bel Ami. @LeRPattzClub shared translation and video. Thank you!

Let’s talk about cinema and the 1st images from Eclipse, a successful international saga.

In this new sequel , vampires and werewolves must unite their forces to protect Bella from a terrible menace. Edward, the vampire must cooperate unwillingly with Jacob, the werewolf. As for Bella, she doesn’t know anymore who she loves. Since 2008, when the first film was released, the Twilight stars can’t walk out as they want otherwise they can trigger off a riot. Robert Pattinson is the favourite target of the paparazzi. Outside shooting are becoming more and more painful. Robert is shooting a new film, Bel Ami , in Hungary. It’s a new romantic drama. Photographers disturb him relentlessly and between the star and the paparazzi, the war is on.

RP ”We had to redub all the dialogue for Remember Me we shot outside because we can only hear the clicking of their camera. They don’t respect anything so I don’t respect them either.”

But let’s come back to Twilight , the third installement , called Hésitation, will be released on June and all the attention is drawn towards the fourth installement whose shooting should start in November. An installement which will be divided into 2films, shot one after the other but with distinct release dates.

*Very* Cute Fan Encounter In Budapest (Translated)

Remember these great pics of Rob posing with fans in Budapest while filming Bel Ami? - as it turns out there is a great story behind them. @alexandra1116 was nice enough to translate what the girls shared about that night:

Summary of cute/funny fan encounter with Rob in Budapest: two girls saw Rob walking down the street with his bodyguards so they went up to him with a "hi Rob!" and the girl says that when he looked at her she forgot everything she knew in English and all she could get out was "autograph and photos" :D Rob smiled and said "sure". So the girl's friend got out her Twilight dvd (which they had with them in case they ran into him while he was here) Rob laughed when he saw it and said "what the hell?" Then there's a whole long bit where the girl couldn't find her pen, and during this time Rob attempted to pronounce the Hungarian word for Twilight (Alkonyat). The girl told her friend to hold the dvd (fogd már meg!) and Rob also tried to repeat this too :D When the girl still couldn't find her pen, Rob reached into his jacket and took out his own pen, only to find that it had run out, so he took out another one but that one didn't work either (lol) so he tried to carve the autograph onto the paper and ended up ripping it. The girl finally managed to find her pen and gave it to him. Rob took it between his teeth to take the lid off and signed the girls' dvds. Then when they were going to take a photo, Rob leaned down and looked at the girl's shoes, grinned and said "we have the same shoes" and they both laughed. Both the girl and her friend took photos with him, thanked him, he said to them "nice to see you" then repeated "see you" again to which the girls said bye and he left.

So that's the story in a nutshell :)

Journalist's Account of UK 'Remember Me' Premiere

This is definitely a must-read, as a journalist describes his experience at the London Premiere of 'Remember Me:'

It’s St. Patrick’s Day in Leicester Square, central London, and this is always one of the busiest days of the year for the cinema and entertainment district, filled with drunken revellers arbitrarily utilising the Irish saint as a handy excuse to get boozed up. There are certainly plenty of big green novelty Guinness hats around, but today they are loudly outnumbered by a several-thousand-strong crowd of wildly excited screaming girls, chanting in unison “We Want Rob!”

The Rob in question is of course the ‘Twilight’ star and heartthrob du jour Robert Pattinson, and the occasion is the UK premiere of his latest offering, ‘Remember Me’, a rebel-without-a-cause tale of love, youth, and, er, 9/11.
