Update On U.S. Cosmopolis Release Date

RobertDazzlesMe got in touch with eOne who is distributing Cosmopolis in the U.S. and Canada, to ask them when we can expect the film to be released. This is what they wrote back:

"US Cosmopolis release will be announced in the next few weeks. As for the premiere, all we are saying at this point is that it is in Toronto. Keep checking our Facebook for more updates".

So the good news is that we should have an exact date for the U.S. release soon (rumor is August). The bad news?.. looks like the U.S. promo could mirror the Bel Ami one, meaning we get nothing.

Shoot us now.

Crossing our fingers we get more info soon, and we'll bring it to you the minute it's in.

Bel Ami: Possible U.S. Release Date Revealed!

Yes, we've been here before, thinking we have a date for the U.S. release of Bel Ami and then it gets delayed. While that could still be the case, it's looking like the March 2nd date just listed on IMDb might stick. No official word from Sony. The company bought the North American distribution rights to the film. Stay tuned!

'Bel Ami' Gets U.S. Distributor & New BTS

UPDATE 11/4: We have a new clip! (behind-the-scenes, interview)

Translation via source

Robert Pattinson had left the Twilight Zone for a little while, and starred as a lead-actor in the movie Bel Ami. His co-stars are Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. What a company! - vampire, serial killer and daughter from the Adams family. Scary, scary melodrama.

Damned womanizer Pattinson, clothed in the 19 century suit and a hat, looks amazingly gorgeous. This time he's playing the part of a seducer Georges Duroy, a sickly-sweet adventurer, who's trying with all his might to get into Paris' high society.

Rob: Georges doesn't differ from other people, he doesn't have a talent, he's not noteworthy, but he knows exactly what he wants.

Maybe with this new role Rob will be able to get rid of association of being a Twilight leech Cullen.

Bel Ami is a screenplay of Guy de Maupassant's novel of the same name. It demands serious approach.

Rob: When I read the script, I learned that this character is absolutely atypical to me. Basically, it's a story about the bad guy, who is ready to do bad things to achieve for the sake of his benefit.

Robert is undoubtly lucky - he's accompanied by real hollywood beauties - Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas. And he has an erotic scene with each of them. Unfortunately, one by one, and not all together.

Christina: There's an intrigue and a game in this story, just like in real life. I think, everyone can find themselves in some character.

Kristin: I like this story about the guy, who can rule the women, arrange them around himself as he see fits. I think, that's interesting enough.

There's always rumours about Robert being involved with his co-stars, after every movie's release. That was with Kristen Stewart from Twilight, and then with Reese Witherspoon after WFE. Who will the journalists marry him to this time, since he has three co-stars? We'll see.

The news we have so anxiously been waiting for is finally here:

Per Deadline Hollywood:

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions grabbed North American rights to Bel Ami, the Protagonist Pictures drama that stars Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas and Christina Ricci. Pattinson plays penniless ex-soldier Georges Duroy, who rises to power in Paris with ambition, power and seduction. Rachel Bennett adapted the Guy de Maupassant novel and Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod directed. Uberto Pasolini produced and Simon Fuller is exec producer.

Projects: New Cast For Breaking Dawn, Distribution Update For Bel Ami

It's been an exciting week as cameras get ready to roll on the last two installments of the Twilight series. With filming set to begin in Louisiana in a few weeks, today Summit confirmed who has been cast as the Denali Coven in Breaking Dawn. The Hollywood Reporter has a bit more. The official word comes after Entertainment Weekly broke the news on who will be playing Edward and Bella's child in the movie. All we care about is that this is the vamp who has the hots for Edward.. meet Tanya.

On the Bel Ami front, one of the movie's fan blogs got Protagonist Pictures to admit that they still don't have a distribution deal for the U.S. plus a few other facts. Check their post for the rest of the scoop. We'll stay on top of Rob's projects for you!
