Details On French 'Water For Elephants' Premiere!
Thanks to the lovely Le Monde de Francesca, we now know the alleged location and time for the Water for Elephants premiere in Paris, April 28th.. and it looks like the cast will be in attendance!

Cosmopolis: Rob's Leading Lady Revealed!
After much speculation, The Playlist is reporting that the role of of Elise (Eric Packer's wife) in Cosmopolis will be played by Sarah Gadon:
Known in Canada for the television series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?,” Gadon currently stars on the CBC drama, “The Border.” More importantly she has already worked with Cronenberg landing a smaller role in the filmmaker’s already-shot “A Dangerous Method” where she plays Emma Jung, Carl Jung’s wife. That picture stars Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, Keira Knightley and Vincent Cassel.
Gadon will be playing the role of Pattinson’s estranged wife Elise Shifrin.

The Hollywood Reporter adds a few more key details, including where they will film in Toronto and who will handle film distribution in Italy and Canada:
Cosmopolis is set to shoot in west Toronto at Cinespace’s Kipling studio facility.
Entertainment One will release Cosmopolis in Canada, while RAI Cinema SpA will distribute in Italy.
Rob confirmed that Samantha Morton was attached to Cosmopolis, and today we learned that she'll play Vija Kinski according to the official Cosmopolis site. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of May.

Rob Talks Bonding With 'WFE' Set Animals
Dark Magazine (France) has a new interview with Rob, where he shares lots of cool details of working on the Water for Elephants set. Plus read on to find out who he was reportedly up against for the role of Jacob!

Robert Pattinson: “I feel better working with animals than with people"
When you are a young actor, handsome and you are so famous thanks to Twilight, you might be trapped forever in this outbreaking role. But Robert’s talent is linked to his ability to keep on working on sets and playing characters completely different from Edward Cullen. After the drama Remember Me, it’s in another love story we can see him with Academy Awards winners Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds). For Dark Magazine, he talks about his unusual experience while playing Jacob, a young man who must drop his veterinary studies after a family tragedy, and he decides to change his way of life joining a circus. He will fall for a young woman, Marlena, and more surprisingly for an elephant: Rosie. This story is set in the 1930s in America.. In theaters on May 4th.
Hi Robert, can you talk about Jacob, Who is he? How will he join a circus?
Jacob is a veterinary student in Cornell University he’s about to take his final exam when his parents die in a car accident. His whole world collapses in a few months. He jumps on board an old train to start from scratch and try to find a job somewhere, then he discovers it’s a circus train. He sees Marlena the very first day and these are the 2 main reasons he wants to stay and be part of this circus life. He gradually manages to accept his new life and falls for Marlena. And he also manages to blow everything out ! (laughs).
How would you describe him?
Jacob doesn’t know anything about the circus. At the beginning, he is self conscious, he knows how idealistic he is. But he soon realizes this universe, that he discovers in the middle of a huge economical crisis, seems to destroy the slighest spark of hope within himself. He also gets acquainted with August, a very violent man. Actually, Jacob goes through several trials of life, he faces a lot of difficulties throughout the story, and in the end, he realizes that he kept his idealistism, no matter what. I think this is what moves Marlena and encourages her to follow him. August is such a practical man . He thinks he must appear as a cold and harsh man to the others otherwise his world will collapse. But Jacob sees things quite differently. His way of life is so far from August’s.
Did you easily manage to connect to your character ?
Yes. Honestly , I feel better working with animals than with people. I found out that all the animals had a weakness. You just need some peppermint to be loved by elephants. I realized you can do whatever you want with giraffes whenever you have apple juice on your hands. Even the animal trainers were astonished . There was a 6 month-old girafe on set and they couldn’t make her do what they want . I came to see her covered with apple juice and she followed me anywhere. Everybody was like “How did you do it ? Why does she do as you say ?”.
Did you read Sara Gruen’s novel, “Water for Elephants?"
I hadn’t read it before I got the role, but once I started, I couldn’t stop. I read it on the plane while I was going for some reshoots for Twilight and the man next to me that day was also reading it. On my flight back, my neighbour was also reading it! It was really weird. I know the book was a best seller in the USA but I think it’s also a successful book in foreign countries. I feel it’s like the Twilight books. When we started shooting the first film, more and more people discovered this book, sales started to boost and the novel immediately became popular. A few people had heard of “Water for Elephants” before and suddenly, by word of mouth, everybody had read the book.
This part is so different from the one you have in Twilight. Was it an interesting and exciting experience?
It was awesome. It was great to work with such great actors. I didn’t really know what to expect when I signed for the film. Then, I met Tai the elephant and it was so incredible that I absolutely wanted to do it! (laughs). From the very first day, it was an amazing experience. Everybody seemed to be deeply involved in that project, everybody on set was convinced that this film was gonna be extraordinary.
So how was it working with Tai, did you fall in love?
Almost! (laughs). I was so sad when I had to leave her at the end of the shooting. She had such an extraordinary charisma. It’s weird – It must be the same with any other elephants since they are so huge. You feel untroubled when you are next to them . I would easily sit all day long next to Tai. And it’s what I did the very first days. I always sat next to her and I stayed there all day long. There’s no way she tramples on you or hurts you because she always knows exactly where you are. Those animals have amazing personalities – at least, she has. She’s lovely.
Set secretsIf the novel wasn’t well known in France, the Hollywood top actors of the new generation fought for Jacob’s part : Channing Tatum (GI Joe, Cher John), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Andrew Garfield (The social network, Spiderman) auditioned but it was Robert Pattinson who was cast . Resse Witherspoon and Robert had already played together in Vanity Fair. In Water for Elephants they are secret lovers and in Vanity Far, Reese was Robert’s mother !

There are dark secrets in this movie, as in life. And there’s this idea of life-saving love, which I believe in. I’m not cheesy, but I have a romantic soul.
Do you get on well with girls?
I grew up with two older sisters, and I have a great respect for women. I hate the lack of prudishness, I get bored when people are ostentatious of their body. Sex and feeling for me walk side-by-side.
Your rock side: people say you spend nights with your friends listening to Tom Waits, Van Morrison and the late Jeff Buckley.
Music is a key aspect of my life. I wish I could play a movie about Buckley, his voice, his songwriting gave me a lot. I’m interested in his creativity, in his existence, even in his death by drowning in 1997, in the Mississippi.
What kind of use do you do of Internet?
A practical use. My favourite movie last year was The Social Network and one day I’d like to work with David Fincher. Everything he does is interesting, and he got the best out of an actor I really admire, Jesse Eisenberg.
Mr. Pattinson, you’re an idol. Who’s yours?
Jack Nicholson. He had a huge career and he always owned his characters. Whereas, in the end, for a lot of people, I am just Edward the vampire and in my life I’m just Robert. We share the same hairstyle. But when I read an entire article about my hair, I laugh my best British laugh.
By the way: what brought you from London to Hollywood?
Difficult work perspectives. I didn’t have great experiences as an actor, I had posed rather awkwardly as a model; then, cinema. In Vanity Fair I was Reese’s son, while in this last movie I’m her lover.

Working With Kids & Animals: Rob Enjoys It!
While talking to Box Office magazine, Rob talked about his work in Water for Elephants.. and why he jumped at the opportunity:
I mean, everyone always talks about, "Never work with children and never work with animals," but I just found that it's always been a part of me. I enjoy working with children and animals more than adults the majority of the time because they're a constant source of inspiration because they're just doing their own thing. They don't know they're in a movie.

Twilight-fans, take heart: Robert Pattinson is every bit as good-looking and thick-maned as he appears onscreen. But don’t confuse him with his brooding characters — the 24-year-old actor is surprisingly open, chatty, and quick to laugh. Pattinson talked with EW last week about his upcoming film Water for Elephants (in theaters April 22), in which he plays a traveling-circus veterinarian who falls for the show’s star attraction, played by Reese Witherspoon. He also discussed what his future might look like once he’s finished with Twilight. “You can never really predict what an audience wants or how to maintain a career,” he says, “other than doing what you think is cool.” But, Pattinson laughs, “Generally, what I think is cool is what everyone else hates.”
Filming for the final two installments of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will wrap next month, and there’s one thing Pattinson says he won’t miss — the contact lenses he’s had to wear to play Edward. “My God, I’ll be glad to see the last of those,” he says. “I actually want to get some kind of plastic explosive. I want to reanimate them into something so I can kill them. It’s so embarrassing for me — after so many years, it’s still a process every single morning. Everybody else has figured out how to do it, and then there’s two people holding me down because I can’t do it myself.”

Rob's Close Call On WFE Set & BD Birth Details!
USA Today has a great new interview with Rob, where he talks about getting knocked down by a horse on the Water for Elephants set:
"It was just one split second but (it was) a fully grown stallion...I'm kind of relatively scared of horses as well. I'm just glad I didn't have to ride any of them. I'm not particularly good at horse riding."
He also gives new details about that Breaking Dawn scene:
"She has to have this pregnant suit on all the time, that was probably more annoying for her"

Style Magazine: Rob Opens Up About Family Life
The April issue of Italy's Style magazine features Rob on the cover. Here's a rough translation of the preview via Thinking of Rob:

The cover is dedicated to Robert Pattinson: the 24 year old British actor who emigrated to Hollywood and gained worldwide fame playing the pale vampire in the Twilight saga.
He now represents a new masculinity that is distant from the machismo of the 80s and in a long interview to Style he declares: “Luxury hotels, hot models and designers buzzing around me? All of them are traps, I want a quiet life.” The actor continues: “I’m not interested in casual relationships, I need to get to know people. I’m not making an existential statement: I just want a family with two or three kids”.
