Both the Blu-ray Disc and 2-disc DVD will feature hours of extensive bonus materials. The weekend street date allows for midnight events at retailers nationwide where eager fans will be lining up in anticipation of the finale's home entertainment release.

With the release of Breaking Dawn - Part 2, which has taken in an incredible $290 million in domestic box office so far, The Twilight Saga will become the top-selling home entertainment franchise since 2009, having already sold over 50 million DVD and Blu-ray copies to date. Today Yahoo broke the news that on that day, you'll be able to get your hands on the Breaking Dawn Part 1 Extended Edition (U.S.). It reportedly includes EIGHT MINUTES of "fan favorite scenes from the book" that were cut from the film. Here's the teaser.

As to exactly what's included in those eight minutes of extra footage remains a mystery, but here's the info provided by Amazon on the French version, which comes out February 8th:

 - A new version of the opening scene with the Volturi.
- Extended scene of Edward 's flashback as a young vampire.
- New scene from the honeymoon.
- 2 new scenes at the Cullens' house.
- Extended fight scene between Edward/Jacob and the wolves.
- New scene of Jacob taking care of his wounds.
- A new version of the opening credits.
